Come stay and enjoy nature in our cosy and beautiful forest houses. There are three comfortable chalets in the midst of the Malcantone forest, all with beautiful treetop views and a glimpse of Lake Maggiore.
Choose between "LA ROMANTICA", "LA GRAZIOSA" or "LA PERLA" They all have a great panoramic view from the terrace. A unique experience of total immersion in nature.

This comfortable chalet with many amenities is located amid the Malcantone forest. The terrace offers beautiful treetop views with a glimpse of Lake Maggiore. The private driveway is down a slightly bumpy dirt road through the forest. Various hiking trails and biker routes are just behind the house.

The facilities include a spacious parking lot right behind the house. A modern kitchen with refrigerator /freezer, a wood stove an outdoor grill, a modern bathroom with shower and underfloor heating. In the basement there is a washing machine with plenty of storage space, as well as a washbasin (for bikes and dirty hiking boots, etc.), WiFi/WLAN and 4G phone reception.

La Graziosa
New, cozy, and spacious modern 2-bed room hideaway for 4+2 people

La Perla
New, cozy, and spacious modern 2-bed room hideaway for 4+2 people (More only on request!) The loft attic room has room for two guests. This comfortable chalet is basically a copy of the Graziosa but bigger with lots of amenities. It is located just below "La Romantica" and "La Graziosa”
The parking for La Perla is not right next to it. There is a short walkway (40 meters) leading down to the chalet.
Therefore it offers even greater privacy!

Treasures
Rifugio Nel Bosco will give you access to our delicious treasures, completely natural grown free running happy chickens and their Happy-Eggs, as well as our honey, made by our Buckfast Bees from the very area of the forest you see around you. Wake up in the morning and get your freshly laid eggs from the chicken house, taste our honey for your breakfast or for "aperitivo" (appetiser), in the evening, with some goat cheese homemade by the nearby farmer and a glass of wine while enjoying seeing the tree-top panoramic view with a glimpse of Lago Maggiore. Listen to the chanting birds, observe the squirrels jumping from tree to tree right in front of you while sipping on your wine on the terrace. Smell the jasmine, thoughtfully planted right below you to enhance all of your senses. Different types of herbs such as rosemary, thyme, sage and others are also planted around the house. Give your mind and body the serene peace and wellness nature and our little treasures are destined to provide.
Activities
Rifugio Nel Bosco offers several outdoor activities. The region is a real paradise for mountain biking enthusiasts with more than 35 trails of which 13 are in Sessa. You can also choose to start your biking tour on the shores of Lake Lugano or Lago Maggiore at 200 to 300 metres above sea level and work your way up. If you like swimming there are also several opportunities in the area. Discover Lugano Lake and hop on board a Stand-Up-Paddle or go rowing or kayaking. It's only a 20 minute walk through the forest to enjoy Lake Astano (Laghetto di Astano) where you can sunbath and swim or even go fishing. Walk the forest and find natural swimming pools and cascades throughout the area of Malcantone. The natural environment of the forest gives you also the possibility to practice outdoor exercise, such as yoga, running and meditation. If you are an animal lover, here at Rifugio Nel Bosco, you will be able to sight wild animals like deers, boars (cinghiale) or foxes among others, especially at the end of summer & autumn.
Horseback riding is also available in the area. You could even harvest your own Uva Americana grapes in the nearby vineyard of the owner.
Enjoy our treasures or pick up your own chestnuts "castagne" from beneath the trees to eat them later at the fire. If you are interested in culture, Malcantone will offer you also plenty of opportunities for you to discover old villages. Cities like Lugano or Locarno, famous for it's film festival, are not far from us. Visit all kinds of Museums, and even an old abandoned gold mine nearby are well worthwhile visiting. Choose your activity and enjoy everything that nature, the area and Rifugio Nel Bosco has to offer you.
